Biography-Guoying Wu

Guoying Wu was born 1957, Beijing, China.
He is self-absorbed with great Chinese traditional landscape paintings since he was a little boy, and he loves
mountains, rocks and flowing waters of all natural beauties.
In 1967, he studied Chinese traditional landscape painting from Chinese traditional landscape painting master
Gong Tie,
In 1970, he studied sketch, watercolor and oil painting from professor Lin, Nai-Gan who teaches in the Chinese
Central Arts & Crafts Academy.
From 1986 to 1989 he studied fine art at Chinese Central Arts & Crafts Academy, Beijing, China, inculcation
professors including Jin Shang-Yi, Wu Guan-Zhong, which are today’s big masters of Arts in China, he studied
systematic theory of western landscape, his predilection is the Hudson River School’s master’s paintings, and
his favoritism towards the California Impressionism, after four years of systematic and in depth research, he
paints landscapes and figures from natural and life building a solid foundation for a career in the fine arts.
In 1996, he visited the United States and feel in love with this supernatural continental.
In 1998, he held a solo exhibition at Montecito Gallery, Acadia, California.
Since then, he has traveled extensively to the North American, mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls, made a
journey of north and south, from west coast to east coast, three times across the Continent of North America,
he still loves mountains, rocks and flowing waters, the regress the mother natural’s cherish, he has dedicated
to study landscape paintings. His landscape paintings use the western methods, but his inner vision always
has the reflection of the Chinese traditional landscape paintings, in this point, he has attempted to employ and
to combine western and eastern methods hormonally to develop a new style-his own style landscape painting.
In recent years, he has focused on waterfall paintings, the waterfall is a soul spring of the mother nature, with
the secret code of all natural beauty, spirits and life, he always hear a recall from the remote antiquity, “if I have
a pair of eyes that can see through the thousands of years, I will see the real supernatural mother earth, “
thought Guoying Wu “and with my heart to melt eastern and western distillates, to paint my waterfalls
paintings.” His waterfalls paintings bring a new richness, depth and creative energy to the canvas, developed
with unique style with oriental philosophical concept, vivid freshness, and vibrant colors to create a boundary of
